First post in celebration of the number 22!

Athenian Rituals

Plaka, Greece

Hello, and welcome to my first blog post! With this being the first outfit post, and this photo having been taken on the first day of my holidays on the 22nd of July, and standing by this beautiful home at number 22, I thought it was only necessary to begin posting on the 22nd of this fine month! The outfit may not be ideal for 42 degree weather (as worn on this day), but for a much rather normal summers day. The look celebrates a mix of prints, colours and tonal shades. If you look closely, you can make out the horizontal line that is carried down the look.   The shirt is my mothers (from when she was my age) and the skirt is my much loved sample sale purchase from a piece of Valentino couture. The sandals are from Zara and my other much loved item is my mini blue suede backpack. This little creature originates from Athens. The skirt is a mix of colour coated suede and leather that have created the fashionable side wrap design. It is a very sensitive garment and good care needs to be taken when worn.   The shirt being oversized gets perfectly tucked away within the skirt, creating a ruffled and uneven silhouette. As you move further down the look, you see that the Valentino skirt hugs the figure nicely by accentuating the side lines of the body as well as the stomach area. The sandals compliment the entire look as the off-green tone does not match with any of the colours of the other garments.

Finally, the accessories! The sunglasses are from a vintage store in Lisbon Portugal. They are  a chic all silver pair with a streak of blue and red on the sides of the frames. The jewellery will be mentioned and exposed in my future posts! What I love the most about this look is its simplicity. Now I know many may see it differently, but if you separate all the components you see that they are all very minimal. However, once they are all placed together, you get a striking outfit that is easily worn during the whole of the daytime & can be just slightly spiced up, for the evening!   Let me know what you think!
